TJ Kicks Off 50th Anniversary Celebration

The Alumni and Friends of Thomas Jefferson High School Association is launching its 50th Anniversary Celebration with a tailgate party to precede the Homecoming Football Game against rival South High School on Friday, September 24. The game is a Denver Broncos’ High School Football Game of the Week, and the Broncos will be sponsoring many exciting pre-game activities.

Thomas Jefferson High School was one of three Denver Public Schools to open in the fall of 1960 to accommodate the rapidly growing population of Denver. For 50 years TJ has remained a school of excellence with its graduates attending our nation’s most prestigious universities. Recent graduates attend Harvard, Yale, Stanford, West Point, Dartmouth and Colorado College. Today, TJ is thriving with its students excelling in academics, athletics and the arts. We have worked hard the entire summer and are ready for our first game of the season. Columbine is always a good team and always one of the best teams in the state. Summer Work Out for 2010

Lifting will begins on Wednesday 6/2/2010

We will lift every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
The team has been divided into nine teams and each team has a team leader.
The team leaders are:
1.   Ian Melnicoe
2.   Kevin Kumar
3.   John Jones
4.   Patrick Mortel
5.   Dale Nelson
6.   Brandon Tara
7.   Lonnie Hampton
8.   Robert McMacken
9.   Randy Walker

These are the leaders that students need to stay in contact with during the summer. Teams will get points for team attendance during the summer and we will have team contests every Friday and will also have one other competition during the week.

7 on 7 is INVITE ONLY! Must be in weight room and in good standing to be invited. Only Coach Owens, Burns, or Nicolo can extend the invitations.

Welcome to the 2010 Football Season.

The summer off-season is very important to the season for a couple of reasons. We are putting in new schemes and we must get stronger if we are going to compete with the top teams in Colorado. We will participate in a passing league at Regis on Mondays during June. We will be lifting and working on the field from 8:00 – 11:00 on Monday, Wednesday and Friday every week during the summer. The annual contact camp will be 7/19/2010 – 7/30/2010 with a scrimmage on 7/30/10 vs. Mountain Vista and Gateway high school. [Read more...]
